The advent of high-speed rail in China has greatly reduced travel time and has transformed Chinese society and economy. Since the initial technological support, Chinese engineers have re-designed internal train components and built indigenous trains manufactured by the state-owned CRRC Corporation. Ĭhina's early high-speed trains were imported or built under technology transfer agreements with foreign train-makers including Alstom, Siemens, Bombardier and Kawasaki Heavy Industries.
The HSR building boom continues with the HSR network set to reach 70,000 km (43,000 mi) in 2035. The HSR network reached just under 38,000 km (24,000 mi) in total length by the end of 2020. HSR extends to all provincial-level administrative divisions except Macau.
CRH was introduced in April 2007 and the Beijing-Tianjin intercity rail, which opened in August 2008, was the first passenger dedicated HSR line. High-speed rail developed rapidly in China over the past 15 years. Almost all HSR trains, track and service are owned and operated by the China Railway Corporation under the brand China Railway High-speed (CRH). China's HSR accounts for two-thirds of the world's total high-speed railway networks. The HSR network encompasses newly built rail lines with a design speed of 200–350 km/h (120–220 mph). High-speed rail (HSR) in China is the world's longest high speed railway network and most extensively used – with a total length of 40,000 km by the end of 2021. The braking setup includes twin 330mm discs with four-piston Brembo M50 Monobloc callipers at the front and a single 250mm rotor with two-piston Brembo calliper at the back.Shanghai Maglev Train connecting the Pudong Airport with the city An Ohlins electronic steering damper is also part of the package. The hardware on the 2021 Ninja H2R includes 43mm upside-down front forks and an Ohlins TTX36 gas-charged rear mono-shock – both fully adjustable – to perform the suspension tasks. The electronic rider aids include cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, slide control, launch control, and engine brake control. The instrument cluster displays the bank angle and maximum bank angle achieved. The feature list on the motorcycle comprises a Bosch-sourced Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) that works with Kawasaki Cornering Management Function. The transmission benefits from a slipper/assist clutch and a bidirectional quickshifter. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the motor produces 305.7bhp (321.8bhp with RAM Air) of maximum power at 14,000rpm and 165Nm of peak torque at 12,500rpm. The motorcycle continues to use the supercharged, 998cc, inline-four, liquid-cooled engine that requires a minimum octane rating of RON95. Kawasaki has installed a special coat to the paint that allows minor scratches to repair themselves. The 2021 Ninja H2R is available in a single paint option – Mirror Coated Matte Spark Black. The motorcycle tips the weighing scale at 216kg (kerb). Being a track-only motorcycle, the Ninja H2R misses features such as a headlamp, rear-view mirrors, and turn indicators.
